Dear New Reading Friend,
Although my daily work is weaving words, they’re inadequate to express how thrilled I am to meet you via this first novel! We writers toil away in the silence of our “writing garrets,” literally for years, in the hope of having the experience I’m having right now—seeing our stories meet readers for the first time and get a warm reception. The past few weeks have seen the fulfillment of a nearly-decade-long dream. I’m overwhelmed with gratitude at the kind words many of you have had for the book, and for the way you’ve opened your hearts to the characters and let their difficult journeys speak into your souls.
As a Christian writer, the best I can do is pull out an imperfect lens and try to position it so it reflects His glory onto the page. I pray that the result will move souls, but if it does that’s all Him!
