Well-known author Harper Lee once said, “I never expected any sort of success with [To Kill a] ‘Mockingbird’… I sort of hoped someone would like it enough to give me encouragement.” Obviously, Lee’s work was “liked” immensely, becoming a bestseller almost overnight and eventually winning the Pulitzer Prize.
Though I’m certainly no Harper Lee, I want you to know how grateful I am to each one of you who have chosen to read what I write. Your wonderful reviews, kind comments and delight in my characters is very encouraging to me. I’m always particularly gratified when readers share with me that they have received spiritual encouragement or a new revelation of God’s hand at work in their lives through reading my novels.
1 Thessalonians 5:11 says, “Therefore encourage one another and build each other up, just as in fact you are doing.”
